Health Testing

Mandatory health testing is required by the Australian Labradoodle Club of America for members to register as a breeder, and register breeding foundation stock as well as their offspring. . This is very exciting news for the Australian Labradoodle, with the advanced technology in genetic health testing this will be one of the first breeds to emerge and continue to develop with genetic soundness. Most breed clubs, only recommend specific health testing, and are heavily influenced by the old timers or folks that have been breeding for many years, these folks are the hardest people to convince that they need to do the health testing specific to their breed. The future soundness and preservation of the breed they have chosen depends upon it. I have heard it said many times by an old timer that "My dog looks fine and acts fine, so it must be fine."
